When wrapping up for the day, or even just closing out of an open VAI/S2K session, it is important to properly log out.
Unlike many other programs, simply closing out of the window is not enough to log you out;
open sessions exited in this fashion leave compute resources frozen in wait for your return.
Often times this is a good thing -- if communications to the system are interrupted it is easy to pick up where you left off -- but, if done carelessly, the buildup of open sessions can cause slowdowns or other issues.
Logging out is easy in both systems, but must be done on purpose.
Below are the methods for both S2K GUI and VAI Green Screen.
S2K GUI
In S2K, navigate to the top right and select the "Log Out" button.
From here select "Quit".
If you have multiple sessions open, selecting "Quit" will display this message and allow you to return to your session menu.
VAI Green Screen (System 2000)
From the main menu, enter option "90. Sign Off" which will exit your session and return you to the sign-in screen.
This process will need to be repeated for each open session window.
