Change Windows Password

Note: This will change your password for your Windows, email, Teams, and VPN. However, this doesn't change password for VAI. Follow instructions for changing VAI password HERE.

Password Complexity Requirement

1) The password must not contain your name or username.

2) Password must not be the same as the last 10 passwords.

3) The password must be at least 8 characters long.

4) The password must contains characters from three out of the four following categories

  • Uppercase letters
  • Lowercase letters
  • Numbers (0 through 9)
  • Symbol (special characters): (~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\(){}[]:;"'<>,.?/) 

OPTION 1 - Change Using a Work PC

Note: Make sure to connect to VPN if you're outside the office.

1. Press CTRL + ALT + DEL keys together.

2. Select Change a password option.

3. Enter your old password, new password, and confirm it in the correct fields.  Then press the Arrow button to make the change.

 

Note: You may be prompted by Outlook/Teams to re-enter your credentials, make sure to check the "Remember my credentials" box before you click OK! It's always best to sign out and sign back in to Windows after changing your password.

 

OPTION 2 - Change Using Outlook Web App

Note: This does not require you to use a company owned device to change your password.

1. Visit http://office.com/signin. Login with your @lyndendoor.com user and current password.

2. Once logged in, click the Settings (gear icon), then select Password option from the menu.

3. Fill out the form and click the Submit button.

Note: You may be prompted by Outlook/Teams to re-enter your credentials, make sure to check the "Remember my credentials" box before you click OK! It's always best to sign out and sign back in to Windows after changing your password.
